These scenarios aren’t organised by module. They’re organised by the real management bottlenecks growing SMBs face. Each scenario’s solution cuts across products and modules, typically a combination of SAP Business One + 1+N add-ons + MTC services.

Finance Excellence

Month-end close is slow, costing is unclear, reports don’t reconcile

Financial ManagementReporting & AnalyticsAI Operational Analytics

Typical pain points

Month-end close takes days, cost formulas differ across teams, management reports are assembled by hand. True margin is a guess.

Solution direction

First make close, costing and reports fast and accurate, then climb the maturity ladder toward real-time operational analysis and decision insight.

Integrated Finance & Operations

Business and finance are running two separate sets of numbers

Financial ManagementSalesProcurementInventoryProduction

Typical pain points

The operations system and the finance ledger are two data sets. Reconciliation is manual, entries are batch-posted at month-end, data is always lagging.

Solution direction

Let sales, procurement, inventory and production documents auto-generate financial entries, creating one data set for business and finance. Finance shifts from post-hoc bookkeeping to real-time gatekeeping.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

Order-to-delivery chain: constant firefighting

SalesProcurementInventoryProduction & MRP

Typical pain points

Sales, procurement, production and warehouse each work in isolation. Nobody sees end-to-end; delivery dates and capacity are always in firefighting mode.

Solution direction

Drive MRP from sales orders to link procurement, production and inventory into one controlled, visible chain. Visible, linked, adjustable.

Inventory & Supply Chain

Books don’t match reality, dead stock ties up cash, turnover is slow

InventoryBin LocationsProcurement

Typical pain points

System stock and physical stock don’t agree, dead stock locks up working capital, batch/serial/bin tracking relies on memory.

Solution direction

Use batch, serial number, bin location management and cycle counting to keep books and reality aligned, with dead stock visible and turnover fast. Inventory is cash.

Service Management

Contracts lapse, parts aren’t costed, response depends on who chases

ServiceSales / RenewalsInventory / Spare Parts

Typical pain points

Service contract expiry goes unwatched, on-site parts never hit cost, response and SLA have no teeth. After-sales bleeds cost while losing customers.

Solution direction

Use SAP Business One’s built-in Service module to manage equipment, contracts, calls, parts and renewals in one system. After-sales moves from loss-making repairs to a business that can bill and renew.

Group Management

Multi-entity, multi-ledger governance out of control

Financial ManagementAdministrationMDM Master Data Governance

Typical pain points

Multiple entities, ledgers and legal persons: consolidated reports rely on Excel; group headquarters lacks data grip on subsidiaries.

Solution direction

SAP Business One multi-company database + unified master data governance, intercompany transaction auto-matching and elimination, consolidated reporting from 10 days to 2 days.

IPO Readiness

Can ERP withstand capital-market scrutiny?

Financial ManagementAdministrationReporting & Analytics

Typical pain points

Uncertain whether current systems can meet capital-market requirements for auditable, traceable data and internal-control compliance.

Solution direction

Use SAP Business One to standardise master data, approval workflows and financial accounting, building an auditable data chain and preparing the system for filing.

Globalization

Going global: multi-currency, multi-GAAP, local compliance

Financial ManagementGlobalization & Localization Services

Typical pain points

Expanding overseas or into China, facing multi-currency, multi-GAAP, local regulatory and cross-border data requirements.

Solution direction

SAP Business One's multi-currency, multi-GAAP capability + MTC Globalization & Localization services, with compliance and local teams deployed by region.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between scenario solutions and industry solutions?
Industry solutions describe “what SAP Business One should look like for your industry,” configured as a manufacturing / trading / chemical version. Scenario solutions describe “which management pain point to tackle first,” such as Finance Excellence, finance-ops integration, or S&OP. They aren’t either/or: typically you set up the industry foundation first, then use scenario solutions to address your most pressing management bottleneck at each stage.
Can a business tackle multiple scenarios at once?
Yes, but we don’t recommend rolling out all scenarios simultaneously. MTC typically advises starting with the 1–2 scenarios that hurt most, stabilising them, then expanding. During the diagnostic session we’ll help you sort priorities.
Do scenario solutions require buying additional products?
Most scenarios can be solved within standard SAP Business One. The Finance Excellence “see clearly / anticipate” layers involve 1+N BI and AI Operational Analytics; Group Management and Globalization may involve 1+N add-ons (e.g. MDM Master Data Governance). Exact combinations are confirmed during solution assessment.

Scenario Solutions FAQ

How do scenario solutions differ from industry solutions?

Industry solutions cover a specific industry’s know-how; scenario solutions address management challenges that cut across industries (like finance excellence or production-sales coordination), with fixes by pain point.

What scenario solutions are there?

Eight: finance excellence, finance-operations integration, production-sales coordination, inventory & supply chain, service management, group management, IPO readiness and globalization.

How do I know which scenario fits us?

Start from the management problem troubling you most; each scenario explains the pain point, the fix and the module mix involved.

Can a company use several scenario solutions at once?

Yes—most companies roll them out in stages by priority, with multiple scenarios working together in the same B1.
