SAP Business One · Inventory Module
Inventory & Warehousing: Make every stock record’s quantity, batch, and cost always match
In SAP Business One (B1), multi-warehouse, multi-UoM, batch/serial numbers, and inventory cost are all visible in real time; turnover and dead stock at a glance.
Which real pain points does this module solve?
Book vs. physical mismatch
System inventory doesn’t match physical stock. Discrepancies only found during month-end counts, hard to trace, costly losses.
Batch/serial numbers untraceable
Quality issues can’t be quickly traced to source batches. Recall scope cannot be precisely determined.
Multi-warehouse transfers chaotic
Transfer processes between warehouses are unregulated, bin locations inaccurate, picking efficiency low.
Dead stock discovered too late
Aging reports not timely, long-term stock buildup goes unnoticed, tying up capital and hurting turnover.

FAQ
Does SAP Business One support multiple inventory costing methods?
Yes. B1 supports Moving Weighted Average, First-In-First-Out (FIFO), and Standard Cost: three inventory costing methods. Different items can be configured with different costing methods.
How far can batch traceability go?
From recording supplier batch numbers at purchase receipt, to linking production work orders during material issuance, to associating customers at sales delivery. When quality issues arise, you can trace forward (which customers received this batch) and backward (which raw material batches were used in this product).
